The Role
- Reporting to the Bid Director, lead a small team of bid co-ordinators and other resources seconded to the bid team.
- Manage, contribute to and control tendering projects through the whole cycle, from prequalification, through bid preparation, submission and negotiation into mobilisation.
- Participate in pre-bid evaluation and analysis. Attend bid meetings, contribute/generate proposal documents and ensure clients’ visions and goals are articulated within response documents and presentations.
- Key member of the management team in which sharing of ideas and innovation are encouraged.
The Person
- Experienced bid manager with a proven track record of bidding for and winning local authority service contracts of high value (>£5m pa) and long duration.
- Specialisms of particular interest and relevance are environmental services (waste collection, grounds maintenance and street cleansing, catering, assessable transport services, street lighting, highways maintenance and property maintenance.
- Well honed leadership and resource management abilities. First class analytical and presentation skills, strong commercial awareness.
- Numerate and computer literate. Confident communicator and negotiator, able to represent the company with public authorities and partners.
