This is a superb opportunity to head a specialist business unit within a global leader in consultancy. The company works with blue-chip clients in pharma & biotechnology, food & drink, chemicals and consumer products to design and project manage capital investment schemes. It has a first class reputation for ensuring that these investments deliver improved productivity, reduced costs and leading edge regulatory compliance. This is a newly created role, aimed at enhancing the strong UK base and building on existing continental European business through affiliates and the parent company network.
The role
- Formulate and implement a development strategy to increase revenue and profits. Recruit, develop and retain additional professional staff to augment the firm’s expertise and resources.
- Devise and execute a plan to bolster the firm’s presence in key European countries (Sweden, Poland, Germany). Evaluate the merits of organic growth versus acquisition.
- Ensure service quality and client care continue to meet company standards and thereby support the acquisition of new business.
- Work closely with other group business units to exploit opportunities and cross-sell to the firm’s strong client list.
- Excellent career progression prospects worldwide for the appointed candidate, if successful in meeting the objectives.
The person
- Must be a graduate; ideally qualified in an engineering or technical discipline. Fluent English is a pre-requisite; ability to speak other European languages would be useful.
- Either a senior executive in an industrial consultancy or project management company, or an engineering/project director from process industry.
- Proven ability to support the design and delivery of complex capital projects that meet or exceed targets for project cost, timescale and return on investment.
- Well-rounded business management skills, including: planning, budgeting and financial control; management and motivation of teams of people >50 strong.
